Hijama Guidlines

ONE DAY PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Drink 8- 10 tall glasses of water or organic coconut water. Avoid caffeine

  • Eat healthy dinner

  • Do NOT eat or drink 6 hours prior to appointment time

  • It is highly recommend for clients to take a shower

  • Sleep well and be well rested

  • Avoid more than 2 cups of Caffeine

  • Avoid Physical relationship with spouse

THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Do NOT eat, drink, or take medication 6 hours prior to appointment time

  • If you didn’t take shower last night take one before your appointment

  • Bring healthy snack with you to eat after your session

  • Wear lose and dark color pants (preferable)

  • If possible come with a female family member/ friend for comfort and moral support

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Walk for 5 -10 minutes to prevent blood clots and help blood circulation

  • The tiny superficial cuts can feel itchy after hijama. It is recommended to apply olive oil, coconut oil, or black seed oil to help with the healing process. Do not scratch or itch where the hijama was preformed. (We don’t recommend to use ointments or antiseptic creams.)

  • Hijama tends to make clients feel very sleepy and relaxed it is important to stay active at least 2 hours after your session.

  • Avoid any physical relationship with  spouse for 24 hours

  • Clients should avoid working out for 24 hours

  • Digesting dairy products places a heavy burden on our body’s detoxification system, so avoid consuming milk, cheese, and any other dairy products after your session

  • Clients can eat after their session. They should drink plenty of fluids, eat raw fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed and packaged food
